Director of Truckload Logistics

To assist with this growth, we are adding a Director of Logistics to our Truckload division.

The purpose of this position is to provide oversight of the logistics staff for the Logistics Truckload Division, develop and execute strategies for growth, and expand services offered. This role will be focused on working with management and the sales team to develop existing business and acquiring new business. 

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the development and execution of logistics strategies and procedures
  • Innovating new ways to support company goals and growth strategies through logistics optimization
  • Ensuring & monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards
  • Planning and managing shipments
  • Assess team performance, conduct performance reviews, conduct disciplinary action as needed.
  • Assess staffing needs, conduct interviews and make hiring decisions.
  • Set process for new customer onboarding.
  • Maintain in-depth working knowledge of our freight needs on a macro or vertical level.
  • Maintain service performance metrics for customers and submit service corrective action plans.
  • Establish KPIs to measure team productivity and share those metrics with leadership.
  • Work with other department heads in our Truckload Logistics to achieve the overall division objectives. 
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our operating platform. Provide direction to staff on the use of these tools.

Requirements:

  • 10+ Years experience in Management/Director in Logistics 
  • Excellent communications and leadership skills
  • Problem Solving and Analytical skills
  • Competitive attitude and innovative nature
  • Enthusiasm, high energy, ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Detail oriented
  • Technical Proficiency
