Recruiting / Safety Internship

Bay & Bay Transportation is seeking a full-time intern to learn the processes of driver recruitment & compliance.  This individual will report to both the Director of Driver Recruitment & the Safety Director.  The intern will be responsible for collaborating on projects to attract, screen, hire, and retain drivers, along with assisting with auditing of driver qualifications.    

Daily Activities include: 

  • Communicate frequently with potential applicants and Driver Recruiters to keep them informed of the status of any applications they submitted for onboarding. 
  • Act as a liaison with recruiter, applicant, and onboarding.  
  • Complete background checks, pre-hire files, and paperwork on applicants. 
  • Audit Driver Qualification Files to ensure file meets FMCSA regulatory guidelines.
  • Utilize Tenstreet System to perform essential functions, monitor status changes, update notes, and documentation uploading.
  • Coordinate the ordering and cancellation of travel, schedule clinic drug screening for driver applicants, as required

Required Experience and Education:

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for Business Administration, Human Resources, Transportation & Logistics, or similar field.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Competitive attitude and innovative nature. 
  • Enthusiasm and high energy. 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment. 
  • Advanced customer service & professional communication skills. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (365) suite of products.
