Driver Pay & Settlements Specialist

Description:

The Driver Pay & Settlements Administrator will process employees’, and independent contractor’s paychecks by collecting their payroll data. Duties include verifying Trip paperwork, mileage, etc., payment through the payroll system, issuing deductions, earnings and other statements to employees, independent contractors, and updating payroll records regularly.

We are looking for a qualified Payroll Administrator to assist in all activities regarding the management of employee, and independent contractor’s compensation in the company. You will undertake a variety of tasks such as entering payroll information, calculating wages and making payments. An excellent payroll administrator has great understanding of the concept of confidentiality. You will be experienced in entering data with attention to detail and will have good math skills to make the necessary calculations. The ideal candidate will be a thorough professional with good communication abilities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Communications with drivers on paperwork required
  • Maintain payroll information by collating, calculating and entering data
  • Verify all trips and mileage information is updated and correct.
  • Receiving and verifying accuracy of all paperwork for billing purposes
  • Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee, independent contractors information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions and saving deductions
  • Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee, independent contractors payroll queries
  • Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for ensuring that all time worked is entered into the system timely and accurately so that payroll can be processed.
  • Collect and verify timekeeping information 
  • Calculate pay according to hours worked incorporating leaves and overtime
  • Calculate bonuses and commissions when appropriate
  • Manage and calculate taxes and deductions
  • Exquisite math and numerical skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving.
  • Orientation process, with regards to payroll & settlements
  • Initiate periodical payments timely either by preparing and administering checks or making direct deposits through a bank payment system
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll
  • Experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Prepare and submit reports with payroll information to supervisor
  • Performing any additional tasks deemed necessary by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Prefer a degree in business, finance or accounting
  • Minimum of 2 yrs. payroll experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and payroll software
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
