Meet the Team

Lisa Gonnerman

President of Trucking

Lisa Gonnerman, President of Trucking at Bay & Bay, has been a leader in the transportation industry for over 30 years. With 18 years of operational knowledge and 12 years overseeing safety and compliance, Lisa is dedicated to improving processes and conditions for professional drivers, one mile at a time.

Along with her many industry affiliations, Lisa is currently the Minnesota Trucking Association (MTA) Safety Council Vice Chair. In recent years Lisa was the American Trucking Association (ATA) Safety Management Council National Chair and named the ATA National Safety Director of the Year.

Lisa grew up in Iowa and attended Iowa State as a Cyclone. Her two kids went to the University of Iowa and now the entire family bleed black and gold for the Hawkeyes. Lisa and her husband Dan now reside in MN where they continue to be avid football fans and enjoy spending time at their “Shabin” (shabby cabin).

Greg Handwerk

VP of Trucking

Greg Handwerk, Vice President of Trucking Operations, has more than 30 years of transportation industry and leadership experience. Over the course if his career, Greg has successfully led many teams including fleet operations, customer service, business development, and sales departments. Greg currently oversees Bay & Bay’s fleet operations including customer service, revenue management, extended coverage, fuel program and driver experience.

Greg has been an active member of industry associations such as the American Trucking Associations (ATA)and the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) and has served on several committees over the years. Greg is a dedicated, passionate, and approachable leader who takes pride in helping individuals and teams reach their goals. Greg’s career in trucking started in the mid-1990’s when he worked as a driver, so he learned the transportation and logistics industry from the ground up. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer. Greg also worked as a DJ for several years.

Greg and his wife have two adult children. In his spare time, Greg loves playing golf, RVing, and enjoying a good cigar with a glass of bourbon.

Shannon Crowley

VP of Risk

Shannon Crowley, Vice President of Risk, has more than 30 years of transportation industry and leadership experience. Shannon oversees safety, compliance, driver orientation and driver training for Bay & Bay. Prior to joining Bay & Bay, Shannon was VP of Risk Management at John Christner Trucking, where he spent more than 17 years overseeing numerous functions including safety, risk management, claims, driver orientation, driver training and the leasing program. Shannon is passionate about mentoring his team and providing the tools they need to succeed. Throughout his career, he has led several initiatives designed to improve corporate culture, collaboration, and achieving results. As a former driver, Shannon has deep respect for drivers and the critical role they play for the trucking industry. Shannon and his family reside in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
