An Owner Operator’s Legacy on the Road
Tim Garinger’s journey with Bay and Bay exemplifies dedication, passion, and the significance of a supportive work environment. Trucking runs in his blood—both his parents were drivers, and they still team drive today. This family tradition paved the way for Tim’s career.
Growing up surrounded by trucks, it was only natural for him to follow in his parents’ footsteps. Moreover, this deep-rooted connection to the trucking industry has influenced his professional choices, ultimately leading him to Bay and Bay.
Finding a Home at Bay and Bay
Tim’s extensive experience in the trucking industry makes his praise for Bay and Bay especially noteworthy. “Comparing Bay and Bay to the previous trucking jobs that I’ve held, there really isn’t no comparison. I feel like I’ve found a pretty good home here at Bay and Bay,” he asserts. Additionally, what sets Bay and Bay apart for Tim is its family-like atmosphere and approachable leadership. He recounts how down-to-earth Sam, the company’s CEO, is: “He walks around in blue jeans and a ball cap like a lot of other guys. He is so down to earth; you won’t ever see him coming.”
This sense of community and strong team culture at Bay and Bay ensures that drivers like Tim always have the support they need. Moreover, this collaborative environment is a cornerstone of Tim’s loyalty to the company, where everyone works together to address challenges and ensure smooth operations.
Wisdom from an Owner Operator
For Tim, the freedom and variety of trucking are major perks of the job. “Favorite part about being a driver is being able to get around different places when I want to,” he shares. Whether it’s the rugged mountains out west or the scenic routes through Tennessee, the ever-changing landscapes keep the job exciting.
Furthermore, Tim takes great pride in maintaining his truck, believing that a well-cared-for vehicle earns respect and minimizes inspections. “If you’re proud of your truck, it shows. It shows in what the truck looks like. How it’s taken care of,” he emphasizes. Moreover, as a seasoned lease driver, Tim advises others to “slow down; don’t worry about the people behind you; don’t worry about people passing you; just slow down. Enjoy the ride and look around.”
His commitment to using manual transmission underscores his belief in the importance of driver control and attentiveness. With his CB handle, “Gear Jammer,” Tim embodies the seasoned, dedicated trucker who values both the journey and the vehicle that makes it possible. His story at Bay and Bay is a testament to finding not just a job but a home on the road.
