No amount of energy drinks can replace proper rest. “You’re risking yourself and others on the road if you try to power through without sleep,” Deone explains. Whether you park at a rest stop or wait on a load, use that downtime wisely—rest up and stay ready for the next round.
Communication Is Key
Professionalism goes a long way in this industry. If delays happen, and they do, Deone recommends notifying dispatch or customers right away.
“You know if you’re running late or not. Just give people a heads up,” she says. Giving people a heads-up builds trust and keeps everything on track.

Deone emphasizes using time wisely to minimize stress and improve performance. “Maximize your time. Don’t waste it staying up late on video games—rest instead,” she advises. A clear mind and rested body lead to safer and more efficient driving.
